# Push notifications

An approval is waiting, or a run stopped while you were away. Push tells you, so you can stop watching the tab.

## When it tells you

You Desktop · Android

- **An approval is waiting**
- **A run stops without you**

The work

*Both of these happen while you are looking at something else. Without push you find them by going back to the tab. A run that stops means a paused or failed job, or a reply that ended while no stream was attached.*

## Allowing it

Allow notifications in your browser to receive browser alerts on desktop or Android. In the ZeroLog Android app, subscribe to push notifications and allow them in your device settings. Legal and Privacy alerts are available only through the app subscription.

In the ZeroLog Android app, open Settings, then Push notifications. Turning push off there turns it off for your whole account, on every device. Opening or updating the app will not turn it back on. Switch it on again in the same settings screen when you want notifications.

Allow notifications for ZeroLog in Android settings. Battery optimization can delay notifications. Android may run its background checks later than scheduled.

Read the [Android app update](https://zerolog.ch/news/free-page-block-typescript-check) in the newsroom.

Each of the two moments has a page of its own: [Command approval](https://zerolog.ch/docs/approval) and [Jobs and logs](https://zerolog.ch/docs/jobs).

## Other alerts

Choose which alerts you want under Settings, then Notifications. Alerts that wait for you are on by default. A job that finished, a scheduled task that ran and the daily digest are off until you switch them on.

- An approval is waiting, or a job paused or failed. These alerts are on by default.
- A reply finished or failed while you were away. These alerts are on by default and are sent only when no live stream is attached. They never include chat content. App notifications include the chat number; browser notifications do not.
- Your credit fell below its low-balance threshold. The default threshold is USD 1. This alert is on by default and is sent once each time your balance crosses below it.
- A sign-in came from a new location. This alert is on by default.
- A provider key needs your approval, was switched to full access, was locked or deleted, or was used in an unexpected way. These alerts are on by default and never name the provider.
- We published a Legal or Privacy newsroom update. This alert is off by default and is available through app notifications, not browser push.

App messages use fixed text. For each kind of alert the app gets at most one message a minute, and at most 20 an hour in total.

Read the [newsroom update](https://zerolog.ch/news/notifications-replies-credit-sign-ins) about these notification changes.
