What each action does to a chatA reply streams in. Only Fork makes a new chat; Edit and send again adds a message to the same one.

  1. Every action starts from a reply that has streamed in, with the cost strip filling while it writes.
  2. Stop halts generation. The partial reply stays in the chat.
  3. Edit and send again sends your edited text as a new message at the end of the thread. Earlier history is not rewritten.
  4. Fork from a message creates a new chat holding a copy of the thread up to and including that message. Its title gets (Fork) appended. The original chat stays as it was.
  5. Pause stops the running reply and pauses the containers attached to the chat. Nothing is deleted.
  6. Export downloads the chat as a Markdown or JSON file.

Edit and send again

Your edit goes out as a new message at the end of the thread.

History is not rewritten.

Fork

Copies the thread into a new chat: up to a message you pick, or the whole chat from the chat menu.

The original stays.

Stop

Halts generation. The partial reply stays in the chat.

You are billed for what was produced.

Rename

Give a chat a name of your own.

Or let the first 60 characters of your first message title it.

Export

Take a chat out as Markdown or JSON.

From the chat menu.

Pause

Stops the running reply and pauses the containers attached to the chat.

Nothing is deleted. Resume checks your plan again.
