Appearance settings, motion in Design and Android 1.21

Settings has a new Appearance page. Pick one of six presets, then adjust accent colour, typeface, text size, corner radius and density. Changes apply at once, with a small preview of the app beside the controls. Dark, Light and AMOLED come with every plan. Terminal, Cyberpunk, Swiss-Clean, your own designs and custom backgrounds start with Mini.

A background can be a colour, a gradient, one of six patterns, your own image or a slow animation, with blur and dim controls. We re-encode uploaded images on our server, which removes location and camera data, and only you can load them. Animated backgrounds pause in hidden tabs. They stay still when your device asks for reduced motion or saves data.

Motion has three levels: off, reduced and full. Separate switches cover message, hover, page and typing effects, and your device's reduced-motion setting always wins. Layout options set the sidebar position, chat width, visible chat panels, navigation order and code colours.

Your own designs hold colours and values, never code. The editor warns when text would be hard to read, and you can share a design as a JSON file. If a setting leaves the interface unreadable, add ?safe=1 to the address to load the default look, then reset it under Appearance.

In Design, the AI now checks animations while it builds a site. It flags effects that slow the interface down, appear from nothing or ignore reduced motion. It can fetch short recipes for icon animation, logo reveals, headlines and infographics, and reviews an animation as one sheet showing start, middle and end. Animated icons can use inline SVG.

ZeroLog for Android 1.21.1 keeps unsent text and attachments when you switch views and shows sent images and files in reopened chats. It also fixes a black web workspace after updating from 1.20. Download it from the app page after signing in.
