25 October: product pages in the new look, a scroll camera start page, fewer lost requests

Product, pricing, agents, FAQ, investor and status pages moved to the new look. The start page got a scroll camera, and slow or lost page requests are retried once.

User impact: Not reviewed

Most of the public pages now share one look: the product pages for Code, Desktop, Mobile and Extension, pricing, agents, FAQ, investors, status, and later the comparison pages. The five product icons were redrawn as glass tiles.

Text version

Pages: products, pricing, agents, FAQ, investors, status, new icons. Start page: scroll camera through a rendered crystal, sign-in frame kept. Requests: a page load that gets no answer within 20 seconds is repeated once, and plan limits are no longer shown as load errors.

The start page now moves the camera into a rendered crystal as you scroll. The sign-in frame, the facts and the price element stayed where they were.

A tester saw short 503 errors early in the morning, and we could not prove the cause. Two changes came out of it. A page load that gets no answer within 20 seconds is repeated once, together with the existing retry after a 502, 503 or 504. And during a release the old proxy now learns the new active slot before it stops, so it no longer passes a 503 on the health check.

Visiting /login opens the sign-in window. A plan limit on compute is shown as a plan limit, not as a load error.

We checked the retry in tests, not yet over a longer period of daily use.
