23 October, late: ZeroLog Desktop 0.2.0, new docs pages, corrected site text
Desktop 0.2.0 adds an SSH terminal, the drive and Tailscale in one click. Four docs pages are new, and several outdated statements on the site were corrected.
User impact: Not reviewed
Text version
The owner presses Connect. ZeroLog makes a one-time code valid for five minutes. The helper swaps it for a device token and mounts the drive or sets up SSH over HTTPS.
Desktop 0.2.0
- New setup in the style of the app, an SSH terminal and the drive through ZeroLog-Connect, and Tailscale in one click.
- The installer is not code-signed. Compare its SHA-256 (66d1dc40516578edf9ac3a11e9854f38ab4df81041d947ea4d580d82b4158753) with the one on the page. We have not yet tested the whole path end to end on a real machine.
Docs
New pages: Tailscale, Connect, preview links and permissions. Updated: key proxy, BYOK, SMB (now pointing to Connect) and desktop control.
Corrections
- The docs header says "Request access" instead of "Create account", because self-registration is locked. /signup lost its registration form and is invite-only.
- Pages now separate our operator address in Wettingen from the hosting location.
- The extension page lost an internal note and an unverified "in review" status. The comparison pages got German link texts and a date line.
- The mobile docs say the app installs over earlier 1.x versions.
