ZeroLog Desktop
Your workspace, native on Windows.
A native Windows app for ZeroLog Chat and Code. No browser engine inside. Chats, containers, terminal, editor and Git in one window, plus agent sessions with approvals. Same account and same data as the web.
- Add sub and mul to lib/calc.js and cover them with tests.
- I read lib/calc.js. Next I want to write lib/calc.js and test/calc.test.js.
- Write lib/calc.js?
Approval mode: each action on its own.
ApproveReject - Review: 2 blocks against the last commit
lib/calc.js
function add(a, b) { return a + b } + function sub(a, b) { return a - b } + function mul(a, b) { return a * b } - module.exports = { add } + module.exports = { add, sub, mul }
What it does
- No browser inside
The interface is drawn by the app itself with Qt. The installed files contain no browser engine, and the build checks for that.
- Chat
Markdown with tables and code you can copy. Attach files, edit and resend a message, branch a chat, search across all chats. Questions from the model arrive as cards, and every answer shows its cost.
- Containers
See which containers run, start and stop them, watch CPU and memory, take snapshots. Plan limits show up as the server states them.
- Files and editor
Create, rename, move, delete, upload and download files in a tree. Saving checks the file's state first. If the container's copy changed in the meantime, a dialog shows the difference instead of overwriting it.
- Terminal and Git
A terminal in your container. Status, staging, commits, branches and diffs for a repository there. Push and fetch run in the terminal.
- Agent sessions
Run an agent in a container and approve its actions one by one. You see which files it changed, review the changes block by block against the last commit and discard what you do not want. Tests and build run from a button, and a stop button ends the run.
- Same account, same data
You sign in once in your browser. The token stays in the Windows credential store. Chats, containers and files are the ones you see on the web.
Download
- Preview build
Built on 20 October 2026. A first version, not the finished app.
- Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit
Windows 10 needs version 1809 or later. The installer refuses older systems.
- Download size
The download needs a sign-in.
- File
- ZeroLog-Desktop-Setup-0.1.0.exe
- SHA-256
- 5825f2fefb7aae655873eef9a61de39dd97b3d478dbf87619c45445b97d60ef0
- Installs for
- Your user only. No administrator rights needed.
Check the file
In PowerShell, run the command below. It must print the same SHA-256 as above.
Get-FileHash .\ZeroLog-Desktop-Setup-0.1.0.exe -Algorithm SHA256
Windows warns you once. This preview is not code-signed, so SmartScreen shows “Windows protected your PC”. Choose “More info”, then “Run anyway”. Compare the SHA-256 first. A Microsoft Store version will follow.
Install in three steps
- Download the installer
Click Download and sign in if asked. The download is a single file.
- Run it
Click through SmartScreen as described above. The installer adds a Start menu entry and writes only to your user profile. You can remove the app later under Settings → Apps.
The first start opens your browser for pairing. Confirm there and return to the app.
Still a preview
- Web functions done
Built natively and tested live against zerolog.ch. The rest is missing or unfinished.
- Only Windows for now
macOS and Linux will follow later. There are no dates yet.
- Not tested live yet
Renaming and deleting chats, restoring snapshots, large attachments and “always allow”.
Not in the app yet: design and media tools, automations, connecting your own AI subscriptions, privacy and security settings, admin pages, voice input, VM management, chat export, a split editor, language-server features, several terminal tabs and buttons for push and fetch. Use the web app for these.
