ZeroLog Desktop: a native app for Chat and Code, now in preview
ZeroLog Desktop is a native Windows app for your zerolog.ch account, with Chat and Code as two separate workspaces. It runs without a browser engine and is in preview.
Adds a native Windows preview app for Chat and Code on the same account; the web stays unchanged.
ZeroLog Desktop is built with Qt and C++. It uses the same account and the same server state as the web: your chats, containers, files and credit are the ones you already have. There is no Electron, no WebView and no hidden Chromium. A check in the build fails if a browser engine ends up in the package.
You sign in with device pairing. The app shows a code, you confirm it in the browser where you are already logged in, and the app never asks for your password. You can revoke the device in your settings at any time.
In Chat you get streaming answers that survive a dropped connection or an app restart, attachments by file dialog or drag and drop, editing, branching, question cards and approvals, tables and code blocks rendered natively, and the cost of each answer as it was booked.
In Code you work in your container: a file tree, an editor that refuses to overwrite a file that changed in the meantime, a native terminal, git, an agent session with approvals, a block-by-block review of its changes, and buttons for tests and builds. Web previews open in your normal browser.
This is a preview for Windows 10 and 11. Many areas of the web app are not native yet and open in the browser. The installer is not code-signed yet, so Windows may show a warning. The download page follows; until then the documentation lists what works and what does not.
