Terms of Service 1.7: notice periods by plan

Terms 1.7 changes clause 12.2 only. Paid plans keep 30 days of notice, free and preview features get 14 days, and urgent or favourable changes apply at once.

User impact: Not reviewed

Terms 1.7 is dated 20 October 2026. Only clause 12.2, on how the terms can change, is new. Full English and German texts are on the legal page.

What changes in 12.2

Paid plans and paid add-ons, like the Compute Boost and prepaid credit, keep 30 days of notice before a material change that works against you. You can cancel free of charge before it takes effect, or within 30 days after the notice or the change, whichever is later, and the unused part of a prepaid period is refunded pro rata. A price change never applies to a period you already paid for.

On the free plan, on free features and on features marked preview or beta, such a change is announced at least 14 days ahead. You can close your account at any time.

Four kinds of change apply at once, with notice no later than the day they take effect: changes only in your favour, changes required by law, a court or an authority, changes needed to deal with a security incident or abuse, and purely editorial fixes. If one hurts a paying customer, free cancellation and the refund still apply.

No change applies retroactively, and every notice names the version and the date. The clause now lists the reasons for a change, and stronger consumer law, such as Art. 19 of EU Directive 2019/770, takes precedence.

Who is affected

ZeroLog has no paying customers, and the only accounts that had accepted an earlier version were internal test and smoke accounts, so 1.7 applies at once without a 30-day transition.
